Occasionally, we invent things to entertain ourselves.

For instances, RC devices, toys, electronics, etc…

But here, I want to emphasize on “RC” because it is a very extensive subject.

Pretty much, anything that can be controlled by a remote can be considered “RC”

For example, the personal mini-drones that are so popular nowadays fall into this category.

Of course, its purpose is not solely on entertainment, but personally I think the word ‘RC’  is more closely tied to entertainment and hobbies than anything else.

It was so much fun to play with, but the only downside was that these ‘RC’ cars were too expensive.

RC car junkies would usually modify their RC cars to add even more functions to it.

Can you even imagine how much you would have to spend to fully modify a RC Car which is already expensive to begin with?

One of my friends who loves modding these RC cars said that once he had spent almost a thousand to two thousand dollars to fully modify his RC car.

Now I understand why people call this a “high-end” hobby.

So I thought to myself, would it be possible to enjoy these without spending too much money?

Actually you can! Since we live in a DIY era where anyone can have access to technologies and platforms that would allow them to easily build many different things.

What is Wiznet Museum? It is a place for people like you where it stores all the users’ information related to DIY in an easily accessible manner.

So I searched in Wiznet Museum about topics that are related to RC.

Wiznet Museum is basically a place that shows DIY projects related to network. In this case, anything that can be controlled by Web, or even anything that sends all sorts of videos via lan or wireless would fit these descriptions.

I found out a RC Car based on Web control.

I would like to introduce some of them to you.

1. Open Source Robot Controls

As you can see, it’s very bulky and it reminds me of some kind of a monster truck.

If we look more closely,

It consists circuits that are shown in the picture above. The board consists an ethernet port, monitor ESC, and a wireless router… basic and elementary things that are needed to produce RC.

But, there is one thing that is missing, and that is the RC! Remote Controller itself.

If you want to control it remotely, obviously you will need a remote controller. Because of the advancement of smartphone technologies, remote controlling can be done through Apps on any smartphones.

As shown in the picture above, wireless router and the board is connected by the ethernet cable and that allows wireless control.

Link above shows the source of the App that was in the video. And it is all free. How much better can it get??

2. Internet-Controlled RC Car

This time, it is a slick looking mini RC car.

Did you notice anything different?

There is a reason why I introduced this particular RC project to you.

First, it’s the difference in implementation of technology. As you already have seen the previous project, everything from the wireless router to the board were loaded in the RC car.

But this one? Yes, this one is different. Can you see it?

It has the slim looking appearances, like shown below, it dissected an ordinary controller and modified to have Arduino and ethernet shield to form a new control box.

And, as shown below, they only added a circuit that detects any input voltage of the camera inside the RC car.

This project is more simple than the other one in both preparation and process.

We can dissect and modify any RC car into what we’ve seen above.

We’ve looked into a project which allows a web control and video streaming.

Normally, if you want to buy a RC device, you would have to spend an absurd amount of money, only due to the fact that the controller is wireless and it has a video camera on it.

The cost seems too great for a little bit of enjoyment we get out of it.

So today, I would like to recommend DIY Rc Car which allows you to have the same enjoyment at a much lower price.

I want that this is the chance to have your great RC through this curation.
