Project Description

UPnP Picture Viewer

James Blackwell (USA)

Project Files : Abstract, Entry

The Universal Plug-and-Play (UPnP) Picture Viewer enables a user to stream digital photos across a network and display them on a standard television set. The W7100-based design interacts with one or more UPnP media servers on a local network. It locates shared pictures and can send them to any S-Video-compatible display.

Photo Checkpoint

Carlos Reinoso Espinoza (Peru)

Project Files : Abstract, Entry

The W7100-based Photo Checkpoint is an access control system that identifies a user through a code represented by an image on a cell phone screen. The code can be sent to the cell phone directly, but when it is sent to an e-mail account it adds another layer of security.

Budget Network Attached Storage Unit

Lindsay Meek (Australia)

Project Files : Abstract, Entry

This design uses a W7100 to connect an IDE hard drive to a 100-MBps LAN. The ATA-over-Ethernet (ATAOE) protocol is used to move data over the LAN at a high speed with minimal software involvement.

Weather Client

Rob Howell (USA)

Project Files : Abstract, Entry

Weather monitoring is simple with this W7100-based system. It receives multicast UDP packets from Weather Display software, decodes the packets, and displays data on an LCD.

Wheelchair Tracking System

Ben Zijlstra & Theo Kleijn
(The Netherlands)

Project Files : Abstract, Entry

This innovative Internet-connected project is a wheelchair tracking system. The project includes an iMCU W7100 evaluation board with a GPS-mouse and an RFM12BP transceiver connected to a wheelchair. It features a W7100-based “field device” and a W7100-based “gateway.”

SIP Phone Terminal

Shinji Kasaki (Japan)

Project Files : Abstract, Entry

The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Phone Terminal enables voice communication with a remote PC softphone via the Internet. The easy-to-use, low-power, W7100-based system has two main functions: voice session control and voice transmission/reception.

Telnet Server Framework

Bartosz Kubiak (Poland)

Project Files : Abstract, Entry

The purpose of this project is to enable the rapid prototyping of a W7100-based application that needs an Internet connection. The Telnet server framework is not just a server implementation. It also includes VT100 commands, address resolving, a DHCP function, and more.

My Weather Now!

Gregory M. Brettell (USA)

Project Files : Abstract, Entry

This self-contained, W7100-based weather terminal enables users to control how they receive weather information. It displays current conditions, a three-day forecast, and updates. Custom settings (e.g., specific cities, an IP address, and DHCP options) are programmed with a PC via an RS-232 interface cable.

RFID Sales Attendance Monitoring System

Hendhi Hermawan & Dhanny Wijaya (Indonesia)

Project Files : Abstract, Entry

The RFID Sales Attendance Monitoring System (RSAMS) enables managers to remotely monitor the attendance of staffers. The W7100-based system features an RFID card reader, a network connection to the Internet, and a webserver database.

WIZnet Weather Station

Gregory Ciavattone (USA)
