What is SNS?

‘SNS’ (Social Networking Service), aka Social Media,  is an online service that builds a network of relationships that are formed by sharing the same interest or hobby.
‘SNS’ has recently emerged as a subject of social and academic interest due to its explosiveness (the growth of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc).
In average, people spend at least an hour everyday using SNS; and it is rapidly becoming an important part of our everyday life.
Hence, we are going to see how IoT is integrated into SNS life in this curation.





1. Fire Alarm System using ioShield-A & SNS

This project explains how to make a fire alarm system using WIZnet’s ioShield-A & send alarm messages via SNS (such as Facebook, Twttterm, and etc) when temperature rise up higher than threshold.

We’ll send a message using Facebook and Zapier will notify other SNS users such as Gmail, Twitter, Evernote, Tumbler, Github, and etc.

The following is the system block diagram.




We used one of the transmit sensor data below.


Input your message into Facebook message when a Trigger is created.



Then, you can check the update on Facebook.


If the temperature rises above 28ºC, the Zapier server is notified. Zapier will send the alarm message to Facebook.

2. How to send Tweets from WIZwiki-W7500 mbed board


This project will guide how to send Tweets (Twitter messages) from the WIZwiki-W7500 MCU platform board.




This IoT board calls the specific page of the web server. (In this article, HTTP is called with http://[IP Address]:3000/twitter/tweet)


Log in to your Twitter account and you can see the updated Tweet.

3. Alarming Tweet

This project adds the Ethernet  & Tweeting capabilities to the GE 45142 Choice-Alert Wireless Control Center Alarm system. The alarm system supports up to 16 different sensors across 4 zones. By using Arduino & Ethernet Shield, users can add the alarming tweet function which will inform you of its status.

AlarmingTweet can enable to keep you informed of it’s status anytime anywhere.

In order to connect with Tweet, he uses a proxy server, “ThingTweet from ThingSpeak”. The code is also based on use of “ThingTweet”
