A project that collects and displays weather information is an example that many makers might have made at one time.

In this article, I will show you how makers are gathering the weather status with MCUs.

There are numerous articles about gathering the weather status in the WIZnet Museum.

1. Use the Open API to collect weather info.
  • Project name: Weatherize Your WizFi250

Most of the projects were collecting weather information from external servers using Open API on specialized sites.

This is the simplest example for gathering weather information without any other application.

2. One of the eastiest way to collect weather info directly from a device is to use commonly available sensors.
  • Project name: John R. Havrilla Weather Station
  • Article Link: http://wiznetmuseum.com/portfolio-items/john-r-havrilla-weather-station/

Add sensors for the weather information that you want, and analyze the measured data. This project used Microwave, Hall effect, Pressure, Vibration, Light, Sound sensors as well as temperature/humidity sensors and moisture sensors.

3. There is a method to use equipment that can measure precipitation, wind direction, and speed.
4. When creating a particular application, you will use only one evironmental sensor for your purpose.
