This time, I introduce 2-port ethernet series.

Basically, 2-port ethernet uses to switch ic. And most ICs use the daisy-chaining. but some chips are not.

Typically, These chip uses MCU together. (below block diagram was bring to AX88613 datasheet document)

Basically, Most vendors Support Design Guides(Schematic, PCB, etc..). If user designed, users must be checked PCB Layout guide documents. because Ethernet signal is 100M high-speed signal. so, users must check the Design guide.

Typically, there are several IC vendors. (refer to below list)

1. Microchips: KSZ84xx, KSZ85xx, KSZ87xx Series, LAN9313 series, etc..

2. IC+: IP175A, IP175C, IP178C series, etc..

3. Realtek: RTL8305NB, RTL8306E, RTL8306M

4. ASIX: AX88613

5. Davicom Semiconductor: DM8603

 

So, I introduce a project

1. W7500 Switch board for IoT and Ethernet in Daisy Chain applications

 

This project was used DM8603 IC. it used Daisy Chain.

universal EVB with W7500 and DM8603 Switch for IoT applications in Ethernet Daisy Chain.

The W7500 is an ARM Cortex M0 chip as SoC with 128k Flash + 48k RAM + Hardwired TCP/IP offload engine as known by the W5500, for example.

And, the W7500 provide the MII interface for external PHY, Switch or other Ethernet media drivers like Fiber. With that MII interface the DM8603, a 3-port switch chip, could be adopted very easy.
